Trump has used the nickname for the Florida Governor since November 2022.
Florida’s Governor says he is still flummoxed by a long-standing nickname Donald Trumpgave him.
During an interview conducted by supporter and surrogate Josh Kimbrell of South Carolina,Ron DeSantis said he still didn’t know what Trump means when he refers to him as “Ron DeSanctimonious.”
“I still haven’t figured out what it actually means,” DeSantis said on The Morning Answer radio show, before outlining his background as a “blue collar kid” with a “blue collar work ethic.”
“A lot of the reasons I think I do things that resonate with the public is because that’s just who I am. And I’m really reflecting, I think, the values of the vast majority of the people in Florida, South Carolina and throughout the country,” DeSantis added.
DeSantis had previously said he “liked” the nickname, despite Trump’s patently pejorative intent.
“I don’t know how to spell the sanctimonious one. I don’t really know what it means, but I kind of like it, it’s long, it’s got a lot of vowels,” DeSantis told friendly interviewer Piers Morgan this spring. “We’ll go with that, that’s fine.”
“Call me whatever you want, just as long as you also call me a winner,” DeSantis added.
DeSantis has responded to Trump’s attacks in various ways, including saying in June they’re “petty” and “juvenile” and “not what voters want,” after Trump called him “Rob DeSanctimonious” and lampooned the Governor’s inconsistent pronunciation of his own name.”
Trump gave DeSantis the nickname during a rally in November 2022, and since then “DeSanctimonious” and “DeSanctus” have been the former President’s favored antagonistic appellations for his former political ally.

Admitting to a total lack of self awareness doesn’t seem like a good strategy for anything other than an insanity defense.
If Rhonda has a strategery in this denial of knowledge beyond running for Veep which means exhibiting continued deference to Trump, Rhonda’s strategery eludes me.
I can say Harvard and Yale should ask for their Ivy League diplomas back from Rhonda if they are truly confused like they claim.

They definitely know about their nickname Rhonda.
1- That’s what the bullies yelled when they were a little boy. “Why do you keep punching yourself in the face, Rhonda? Why do you keep punching yourself in the face?”
2- It’s why Rhonda pronounces DeSantis as DeeeeSantis, so it doesn’t sound like Rhonda Santis. All that got them is into the nickname expansion league, earning “Rhonda Dee” along with the Weird Al-ized Grease song

The DeSanti, as the duo is called, Banned dictionaries in the schools. They did this las year…A group that donates dictionaries to schools each year, was giving some to a school in Sarasota. The Principal “said thanks but no thanks, we cannot accept any books until they are reviewed. by the named domestic terrorists “Moms for Hitler.” They are the sisters organization to The Proud Boys who were just fined $1 Million but I am sure the Hitler Moms (yes they quoted Hitler on their Masterhead) will be able to grift the same MAGAt minions that all MAGAts grift.

Philip nailed it in his comment — the sanctimonious nickname fits Ron although probably coined by a trump advisor since “it’s a bit complicated” for Mr. Maga. It sort of fits Trump too. The primary results will tell whether it becomes a motto for the party as well.

I was stopped at a red light when a van pulled up next to me. It advertised right out in the open that the owners not only groom dogs, but also cats! And I was SO angry. The extreme left-wingers not only want to groom our poor little kids, they also want total control of our pets! Before you know it, dogs will be pooping in kitty litter! I’m planning to keep a blow dryer with me at all times so I can de-groom all these innocent pets. 🐱🐕
